Circles Made to Measure Cocktail Table
Traditions Made Modern®
The Circles table is inspired by a console artifact housed in the collections at the New Mexico History Museum. Little is known about it except it is believed to have been built by “Jess” Jesse Nussbaum, a recognized pioneer of archaeology of the Americas and the first Director of Mesa Verde National Park Before becoming famous for his work as an archeologist, Nussbaum taught “manual arts” or “shop class” as we now know it, as well as, educating students about the principles of the Arts & Crafts Movement. Nussbaum appreciated the straight lines and clean look of Arts & Crafts style furniture as it made a bold, modernist statement in contrast to the Victorian aesthetic that was popular during the turn-of-the-century.
